An amazing kit in 1/12 scale of the Mercury orbital space craft, America’s first such manned vehicle. Molded in black and white plastic with clear parts and metal parts, the model features the Mercury capsule, escape tower, retropack, and a full interior with a nicely sculpted vinyl astronaut figure (Redstone booster not included). Can be finished as Alan Shepard’s “Freedom 7,” Gus Grissom’s “Liberty Bell 7,” John Glenn’s “Friendship 7,” Scott Carpenter’s “Aurora 7,” Wally Schirra’s “Sigma 7,” or Gordon Cooper’s “Faith 7.”
